Bonding strength evaluation of explosive welding joint of tungsten to ferritic steel using ultra-small testing technologies

چکیده
The interface bonding strength of thinly coated materials is difficult to be measured accurately owing the size limitations coating layer. In this study, interfaces an underwater explosive welded tungsten foil on ferritic steel was investigated by deep-notch-type micro-tensile tests and microscopic double-notch shear (DNS) compression tests. were carried out using a focused ion beam (FIB) tensile system. results showed that region near larger than but weaker foil. micro-DNS conducted in both regions. obtained exhibited strong dependence as follows: smaller size, higher strength. Although specimens with large gauge section area similar DNS specimens, specimen approximately 1 μm² strengths (∼4.8 GPa) (3.2 GPa). Observations microstructure fracture surface indicated corresponded between welding.

CFD Modelling of Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum to Steel butt joint
In this article effects of friction stir welding (FSW) tool rotational and traverse speeds were studied on heat generation and temperature distribution in welding zone of AA1100 aluminum alloy and A441 AISI joint. Computational fluid dynamics method was used to simulate the process with commercial CFD Fluent 6.4 package. To enhance the accuracy of simulation in this Study, the welding line that...
متن کاملReal-time monitoring of laser welding of galvanized high strength steel in lap joint configuration
Two different cases regarding the zinc coating at the lap joint faying surface are selected for studying the influence of zinc vapor on the keyhole dynamics of the weld pool and the final welding quality. One case has the zinc coating fully removed at the faying surface; while the other case retains the zinc coating on the faying surface. It is found that removal of the zinc coating at the fayi...
متن کاملGas tungsten arc welding of direct quenched wear resistant steel to plain carbon steel and evaluation of its microstructure and wear properties
In this research, the dissimilar welding of St52 plain carbon steel to W400 wear resistant steel and its effect on the microstructure and wear properties of the wear resistant steel was investigated. The wear resistant steel was produced via direct quenching with nominal hardness of 400 HB. Gas tungsten arc welding was used for joining process. The results showed that welding led to hardness re...
